Adventures, Projects, and Journeys
Catching Up, Slowing Down
We settle in, prepare to finish this phase of the refit, and re-evaluate our plans for the winter. A new crew member joins.
Moving aboard
Moving onto a boat presents some challenges different from those moving to a building…
Putting In (and Taking Out) Holes
We remove all of our through-hulls, begin working on replacements, and repaint the hull.
Towards Our Splash Date
We tackle more projects on the list, and line up a target splash date to go back in the water!
Late June Status Update
Projects continue, new chainplates are needed, and we learn to hang ten, dude. (Not really.)
An Unexpected Prop Shaft Job
We get to work installing the new shaft, replacing the cutless bearing, and putting a new packing gland in place.
Removing the Chainplates
We remove the old plates, and begin working on sourcing replacements.
Into the Yard!
We move Blue Turtle onto the hard, to prepare for a somewhat extensive refit.
Adventures in Fuel Lines, Part II
I troubleshoot the engine issues, break the wrong bolt, get waylaid by unprofessional yard management, and return to Brunswick.
